Speech sound therapy helps children develop the clarity and precision needed for confident, effective communication. Whether a child is struggling with articulation, phonological patterns, or motor-based speech difficulties, therapy at Seabird Speech is tailored to their individual needs.

Using a playful and engaging approach, Megan partners with each child and their family to target specific sound errors, support accurate sound production, and build the motor planning skills necessary for connected speech.
Therapy may include goals such as improving sound awareness, strengthening oral movements for speech, and generalizing clear speech into everyday situations.

The ultimate goal is to help children express themselves clearly and comfortably in the real world—at home, school, and beyond.

Orofacial myofunctional therapy focuses on improving the strength, coordination, and function of the muscles of the face, mouth, and tongue. The therapy approach is systematic and rooted in targeted exercises to address each individual’s needs. This therapy approach is suitable for those who demonstrate a cognitive age of 4+ years.
It uses targeted exercises to address myofunctional disorders that may present as mouth breathing, low tongue posture, thumb sucking, tongue thrust, and other oral habits.
Orofacial myofunctional therapy at Seabird Speech supports optimal breathing, improved sleep, functional eating, orofacial development, and clearer speech. It is also recommended before and after tongue, lip, or buccal tie releases to promote the best possible outcomes.

Oral motor and feeding therapy focuses on improving the strength, coordination, and function of the muscles involved in eating, drinking, and speaking. These therapies often go hand-in-hand, as efficient feeding requires well-developed oral motor skills.

At Seabird Speech, therapy is individualized and developmentally sensitive, using a responsive approach to support children from infancy through early childhood.
Common goals may include improving lip closure, tongue mobility, chewing skills, safe swallowing, and the transition to age-appropriate textures. Therapy may also address oral sensitivity, mealtime behaviors, and establishing positive feeding routines.
Together, these therapies support the development of confident, comfortable, and safe eating patterns—while also laying the foundation for clear speech and healthy oral habits.
